Longtime friends and admirers Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal link up for their first ever full length collab DOOMED! Out on rap powerhouse Backwoodz Studioz, DOOMED! is as much a breakup album as it is a love letter to their shared homebase of Los Angeles. Two transplants from a young age drawn in by the city’s lengthy hip hop history, it makes perfect sense that their official debut would revolve around a shared love of those classic sounds. Flanked by a who’s who of LA players, Mike wraps exacting, funny-yet-brutal lines from the eye of the storm (that storm being a tumultuous relationship on the outs) around some of Segal’s grooviest production yet.

LAURA AGUILAR – BODY AND LANDSCAPE

Drawing from works created between the late 1980s and the early 2000s, the exhibition highlights Aguilar’s deeply personal approach to photography, where the body becomes both subject and site of meaning.

Aguilar’s images place her own figure within the arid terrains of Southern California and the Southwest, transforming these landscapes into spaces of reflection and affirmation. Rather than presenting nature as a distant or sublime backdrop, she engages it as an extension of the self. Her body, often positioned in quiet dialogue with rocks, sand, and open horizons, resists conventional ideals of beauty and visibility, asserting instead a presence grounded in vulnerability and strength.

JONI STERNBACH – SURFBOARD

Using the 19th-century photographic process, Sternbach portrays surfboards as singular artifacts shaped by craftsmanship, use, history, and the ocean itself. Her images bridge centuries of photographic tradition and the enduring culture of surfing, creating works that feel both timeless and distinctly contemporary.

The resulting photographs combine the tactile immediacy of historical photographic methods with the enduring iconography of surf culture. Removed from the ocean and presented as singular subjects, the boards become portraits in their own right—records of human touch, craftsmanship, and lived experience. Sternbach’s use of the wet plate collodion process introduces a distinctive visual language marked by luminous detail, rich tonalities, and the subtle imperfections inherent to handmade photographic materials.

LINDSAY PERRYMAN – TOPS

Perryman, born and raised in New York, uses portraiture to push back against narrow ideas of transgender identity. The images in Tops do not treat transition as a single event or a neat narrative. They hold space for process: tenderness, recovery, grief, community and the scarred body as a record of change. That attention gives the work its force. What appears personal is also social, since the film and photographs frame healing as something built through care, support and recognition from others.

The exhibition moves between still and moving images, with photographs made before, during and after the film’s production forming a larger body of work. Perryman includes literal self-portraits as well as images that stand in for self-portraiture through the bodies of others, underscoring the role of visibility in trans life. To be seen here means more than representation. It means being pictured in a way that acknowledges complexity, vulnerability and resilience without reducing them to symbols.

UNDERCOVER X CINDY SHERMAN X GEORGE COX

George Cox and UNDERCOVER have again joined forces on the 4 Eyelet Derby, extending a partnership that runs through Jun Takahashi’s label and George Cox’s Northamptonshire workshop.

Rather than dyeing or embossing the leather, George Cox and UNDERCOVER photo-print it, wrapping Sherman’s images around the full body of the shoe so the artwork reads as a continuous surface with its focal point resting on the toe. Sherman built her reputation on staged self-portraits that cast herself in shifting personas, using the camera to interrogate how identity is constructed and performed.

The two colorways draw on different works from her catalog. The white pair carries Untitled #122, made in 1983, while the black pair pulls from her earlier film-still period, featuring Untitled Film Still #16 from 1979 and Untitled Film Still #53 from 1980.
