2026-05-25In this exhibition, the artist turns toward a quiet yet profound gesture: the act of beginning again. Conceived as a tribute to those who have returned to creating after time away, the works unfold through a recurring image of sunlight, an enduring symbol of clarity, renewal, and hope. If darkness unsettles us because it obscures what lies ahead, morning o!ers a gentle correction. As light enters, forms reappear, and with them, the possibility of continuation. It is within this passage, from obscurity to illumination, that the artist’s works take shape. When the Sun Shines Again marks You’s first major solo presentation in New York.

VISIBLE CLOAKS – STEEL
2026-05-25Paradessence, Visible Cloaks’ third full length, is a work of emergence and illusion. The album’s fourteen songs shift, heave, and shimmer against a faintly luminous backdrop of night, a cavernous space shaped by sparse hyperreal representations of the natural world. The arrangements are simultaneously grandiose and fragile, both an inversion and culmination of what came before and as adventurous as anything they’ve produced so far.
Since transforming from Cloaks to Visible Cloaks in 2014, Spencer Doran and Ryan Carlile have mapped a complex matrix of oppositional concepts: organic and artificial, chance and deliberate, authentic and replicated. The balancing act of Paradessence brings these strains into greater urgency as life in the 21st century is reordered by these same tensions.

The collection features two iconic photographs translated into collectible skateboard editions: Benidorm (Goggles) and The Ocean Dome, Miyazaki, Japan, 1996. Two images that perfectly embody Parr’s singular gaze on contemporary leisure culture: absurd, beautiful, hyperreal, and deeply human.

TYONDAI BRAXTON – PIIANO
2026-05-18Even at first blush, Splayed Werks, Tyondai Braxton’s new album, his first full-length release since the recording of his 2022 symphonic work, Telekinesis, reveals itself as unlike what came before and marks the beginning of a new chapter with Erased Tapes. First off, there’s a lot more music here, 70+ minutes of pure electronics and sound design. Plus, it’s divided in a way that’s out-of-step with the longer forms the 47 year-old composer/producer has previously imagined into being. Of the album’s 15 tracks, more than two-thirds are sub-five minutes.
TweetIRON MAIDEN X TIMEX
2026-05-18Timex and Iron Maiden have built a watch that works on two frequencies. The 1986 Tribute, reimagines the rare original Iron Maiden Fan Club watch from 1986 through the lens of Somewhere in Time, the band’s sixth studio album and one of heavy metal’s most visually ambitious records. The result is a 40mm black stainless steel piece that reveals a second version of itself every time the lights go down.
On the dial, Cyborg Eddie appears in blue against a dark background, flanked by the Iron Maiden logo and the words “Somewhere in Timex” on the inner ring. It reads as a clean, intentional piece of band merch elevated to watchmaking. Then the INDIGLO backlight activates, and the watch becomes something else entirely. Eddie shifts from blue to an otherworldly red glow, transforming the dial from a static portrait into a dynamic object that mirrors the album’s core argument about time and perception
