PALMES TENNIS SOCIETY FALL 2021

Posted on 2021-11-01

After revealing its second collection recently, Copenhagen-based label Palmes Tennis Society has now shone a spotlight on the collection through a new campaign. Shot by photographer Simon Heger Knudsen, the campaign keeps to the brands’ tennis roots, with a series of images captured on and around the courts.

The imagery itself showcases the brand’s second collection, which shows an evolution of its on- and off-court ethos. One of the stand-out pieces from this seasonal collection is the “Blaze” sports coat, which arrives in two tweed colorways, and sports a tennis-themed watercolor artwork by California-based Leah Goren on the interior label.

Elsewhere, the collection includes embroidered overshirts, cotton sweater vests and an updated tote bag. Rounding out the collection are graphic tees and hoodies, many of which continue the athletic influence through their varsity-inspired imagery.

Enlisting the help of Mr. Akio Hasegawa once more, this collection is comprised of the long sleeve shirt, T-shirt, the Nuptse Jacket, and Mountain Light Jacket.

MAHARISHI FW21

Forming part of the label’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection, this capsule encapsulates maharishi’s “respect nature, utilize technology” ethos, with technical fabrics used alongside references to the natural world.

A key example of this is the vegetable-dyed micro-ripston nylon produced by Japanese heritage mill Komatsu. The lightweight material is constructed using waste yarn, and offers the wearer both water-resistant and quick-drying properties. Elsewhere, maharishi FW21 technical items include pieces in Sherpa fleece constructed from post-consumer recycled materials, as well as an insulated quilting produced using a synthetic fill.

ADIDAS EQT RACEWALK X HANON – WORKING MEN’S CLUB

Posted on 2021-10-25

Scottish menswear retailer Hanon and adidas Originals have a longstanding relationship, and in honor of the EQT line’s 30th anniversary, the two are back together for a collaboration on the EQT Race Walk.

The silhouette itself has never been reissued before, meaning this is the first time since it was first released in 1991 that it’s been reintroduced to the market.

Inspired by British Working Men’s Clubs of the ‘90s and the strong sense of nostalgia that often goes with them, the HANON EQT Race Walk leans into these cultural institutions for inspiration. Typically, each one includes a bar area, an additional function room, snooker and pool tables, a dartboard, and usually a small stage to offer live entertainment, such as bingo or cabaret. They are still around today, but sadly in decline, and the existing ones often feel like a time capsule to a bygone era. From the classic pub carpet to the ’70s styling and the disco lights, the clubs retain a charm and character that offer an insight into something uniquely British.
