RICHARD AYODEJI IKHIDE – INCROCI DEL PASSATO

Working in egg tempera on panel for the first time, Ikhide seeks to bridge artistic traditions ranging from the devotional paintings of the Italian Renaissance to the ritual objects and ancestral knowledge of his Nigerian heritage. In these new works, archetypal figures emerge – parents, children, seekers, holy families – each inhabiting charged symbolic landscapes where the sacred, the ancestral and the personal intersect.

SCALER – COLD STORAGE

Bristol experimental post-punks SCALER team up with hotly-tipped hometown label Black Acre Records for a new LP entitled Endlessly. The four-piece continues their alchemical blend of extremes here, grafting the extremes of rave maximalism with the carnage of industrial metal and pure noise. And yet, SCALER finds throughways here, pockets where they shift the dials down (slightly) and bring some dynamics to their toothsome attack. The hypnotic hyperspeed trip-hop of ‘Evolve’ with guest vocalist Tlya x An points towards exciting new avenues for a group that nailed down the foundation at the very jump.
