HOMAGE TO TSUKIJI
2009-01-27After the ‘tuna hugging incident’, where a tourist captured a Kodak moment with one of these expensive fishes, Tokyo’s Tsukiji Fish Market closed its doors to tourists. From December 15 through to January 17, as an “experiment”, Tsukiji fish market was entirely closed to foreigners, meaning that visitors to Tokyo this Christmas had to skip the predawn auction at the world’s biggest fish market. Intentionally or not, it certainly generated a lot of pr for this hugely popular tourist spot, and we predict an even bigger influx of curious snappers in 2009.
