ALEX BARTSCH – COVERS

Posted on 2018-04-02

The launch of Alex Bartsch’s new book, Covers: Retracing Reggae Record Sleeves in London, alongside an exhibition of photographs from the book, curated by Al ‘Fingers’ Newman. An in-depth analysis into the subject, the photographs feature excerpts from interviews with those involved in the making of the covers, including recording artists, record company staff, and the original photographers and their peers, providing rich cultural and historical context to the album sleeves. Visually stunning and contextually fascinating, this work will appeal to those interested in reggae, vintage album cover art and the historical documentation of London and other parts of the UK, as well as the broader evolution of popular culture in Britain.

Exhibition runs through to April 23rd, 2018
