Posted on 2021-11-15

After revealing its second collection recently, Copenhagen-based label Palmes Tennis Society has now shone a spotlight on the collection through a new campaign. Shot by photographer Simon Heger Knudsen, the campaign keeps to the brands’ tennis roots, with a series of images captured on and around the courts.

The imagery itself showcases the brand’s second collection, which shows an evolution of its on- and off-court ethos. One of the stand-out pieces from this seasonal collection is the “Blaze” sports coat, which arrives in two tweed colorways, and sports a tennis-themed watercolor artwork by California-based Leah Goren on the interior label.

Elsewhere, the collection includes embroidered overshirts, cotton sweater vests and an updated tote bag. Rounding out the collection are graphic tees and hoodies, many of which continue the athletic influence through their varsity-inspired imagery.

SUPREME/MISSONI

Posted on 2021-11-15

Missoni® is an Italian luxury house best known for its distinctive and vibrant knitwear. Missoni® began in a small knitwear studio opened by newly married couple Ottavio Missoni and Rosita Jelmini. Both Ottavio and Rosita came from garment backgrounds prior to establishing their company north of Milan. Ottavio began creating tracksuits for athletes competing in the 1948 Olympics in London, where he first met Rosita. Rosita’s family specialized in shawls and embroidery. Their knowledge of knitwear construction and machinery helped the young couple develop the innovative approach to lightweight knits that would become Missoni’s signature.

Although they designed as a couple, The New York Times reported, Ottavio “was the technician, plotting patterns that were inspired by Guatemalan, Aztec and Incan textiles or Abstract, Impressionist and Art Deco paintings. He designed on graph paper, mapping out shapes with startling combinations: primary colors that did battle with earth tones, and polka dots that chased whirling stripes through kaleidoscopic prisms. Mr. Missoni once wrote that he created a chromatic harmony by adding a third color to two clashing ones.” Rosita had the passion and vision for clothing design. Missoni® has since expanded into a global brand, spanning evening wear, swimwear, fragrances and furniture.

Supreme has worked with Missoni® on a new collection for Fall 2021. The collection consists of a Jacket, Sweater, Polo, Hooded Sweatshirt and Crusher.

Available November 18th.

HUF X PLEASURES

Posted on 2021-11-08

HUF teams with Pleasures for their latest collaborative collection, heavily inspired by the ’90s nostalgia.

Staying true to its Los Angeles streetwear and skatewear, this collection draws on the late ’90s and early 2000s nostalgia, bringing oversized silhouettes and retro graphics to the forefront. The pieces give of a resemblance of vintage thrifting finds, especially in the broad range of cut-and-sew pieces. The collection sees co-branded graphics, reflective detailing, jacquard artwork and ripstop fabrics with mesh overlays to further emphasize the evident nod to the ’90s aesthetic.
