SPYDER X ERIC HAZE OUTFIT THE U.S. OLYMPIC SKI TEAM

Posted on 2021-12-13

For the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, Spyder was inspired by the creative theme of “American Originals.” As a result, we partnered with a truly all-American artist and designer for the U.S. Ski Team Uniforms.

Eric Haze is a New York City native, artist, and designer currently based out of Brooklyn, NY. Since 1972 he has been integral to bringing street style to mainstream culture. Known for his bold and iconic hand styles, he helped define the visual landscape of the hip-hop generation working with legendary musicians like the Beastie Boys and LL Cool J. His trademark style, which regularly includes his signature star, is featured throughout the 2022 Spyder Olympic Collection.

CRAIG GREEN X ADIDAS ORIGINALS

Posted on 2021-12-13

London-based designer Craig Green has continued his ongoing adidas Originals partnership, debuting a new silhouette featuring his first sole unit. Dubbed the CG SCUBA PHORMAR, the silhouette showcases this special sole design, which wraps around the foot and features a ridged texture inspired by Green’s quilting in other collections.

As well as its statement sole unit, the CG SCUBA PHORMAR also incorporates the cording structure used through Craig Green’s collaborations with adidas Originals. The silhouette is constructed from a collapsible structure held together by tunnels and cords, including a top cord that runs from the toe cap and along the eyestays, and a second cord that feeds across the toe and links it to the heel of the shoe.

WISM X DOUBLET

Accompanying its Spring/Summer 2022 collection, doublet collaborated with Japan-based select shop WISM by Masayuki Ino for a special release.

Available in black, white and green, the “Vege-T” featues a long-sleeve T-shirt base emblazoned with a flattened cabbage print. Each tee is also outfitted with a purple band on the left side that can be used to transform the shirt to replicate the look of lettuce at a market. Completing the theme of the release is special packaging inspired by the usual plastic packaging of leafy lettuce.

Posted on 2021-12-06

Junya Watanabe MAN has teamed up with Jamiroquai front-man Jay Kay for its Fall/Winter 2022 collection.

Jay Kay, who founded the British jazz-funk band in 1992, became renowned not only for his supreme vocals and songwriting through the ‘90s, but for his bold sense of style which drew inspiration from the Iroquoian family — the Native American tribe in which the band takes its name — and other indigenous cultures of the world.

Now, together with the front man and The Secretariat of Culture of Mexico, Junya Watanabe MAN presents an FW22 collection that expertly pairs the Japanese designer’s classic aesthetic and palette, with the colorful and vibrant patterns of the Iroquois and Jay Kay’s extravagant looks.

BLOHM MF DOOM’S MASK SLIDES

Posted on 2021-12-06

As Blohm gears up for the release of its upcoming Spring/Summer 2022 collection, the niche name has taken to its Instagram account to show off its latest range of out-there footwear, specifically a set of slides informed by MF DOOM‘s signature mask.

A green synthetic suede base sporting the “BLOHM Made in Tokyo” stamp in metallic gold foil lettering sets the tone for what is a luxurious pair of slides. From here, the brand fits the uppers in red leather on the interior side, carving out the lining for MF DOOM’s mask.
