OLMO

Posted on 2026-08-03

From the producers of MINARI and MOONLIGHT comes the next great coming-of-age journey. Fourteen-year-old Olmo and his family are struggling to make ends meet in 1979 New Mexico. Due to an illness that keeps his father Nestor confined to his bed, his mother Cecilia, his sister Ana, and even he himself must contribute to the daily caretaking responsibilities. Olmo, in the throes of selfish adolescence, would much rather hang out with his best friend Miguel and try to impress his beautiful next-door neighbor Nina than take care of his dad. And when Nina finally invites him to a party on the day that he’s been left alone with his dad, Olmo will do whatever he can to get out of his duties, embarking on a journey of mischief and chaos. In his desperate attempt to escape his home life, he will come to realize that the place of his deepest pain is also where he will find solace: with his family.

L’RAIN – FATA MORGANA

Posted on 2026-08-03

L’Rain’s kaleidoscopic fourth album fata morgana is a fearless reckoning with self-doubt and the mirages of belonging and alienation that shape Taja Cheek’s lived experience of the contemporary moment. A shimmering vision of light and sound, seductive, ephemeral, impossible to contain, fata morgana is a genre-defiant synthesis of dancehall, tape meditations, slow jams, gospel, and crunched metal influences in answer to the question: How do you grow in a world not meant for you to thrive in?

JOHN CURRIN – OPENING CREDITS

Posted on 2026-08-03

John Currin’s show at the Savile Row gallery focuses on a new series of paintings that set pairs or triplets of women with exaggerated physiques in ornamental, Arcadian landscapes. In the sequence of twelve mid-size paintings, performative models, reinterpreted from the pages of 1970s clothing catalogues, are poised in a confident display that provides Currin with the means to explore classical painting. In his rendering of the tension of fabric stretched tight across breasts, the light on feathered leaves and gnarled trunks, the radiant softness of flesh and hair, and the self-conscious assembly of limbs, these tableaus allow Currin to make masterful paintings that replace a disappointing contemporary world, with a ‘lost golden world’ that holds his nostalgia for the past. A group of five new drawings in ink on washed paper interpret the paintings in a new medium and sketches from his process are shown alongside the finished works.

SPIRAL TOY’S RETRO SOFUBI STYLE GODZILLA’S

Posted on 2026-08-03

Two new Artisan Dynasty sofubi figures from Spiral Toy are now available through Godzilla Store US, bringing distinctive retro-inspired interpretations of Godzilla and Mechagodzilla to the collection.

Leading the pair is the Godzilla 1965 30CM Closed Mouth figure, a Godzilla Store exclusive sculpted by Slugbat. The design draws on classic Japanese sofubi color schemes with an opaque red soft vinyl body and a vintage-inspired finish that gives the 1965-inspired King of the Monsters an awesome new appearance. The figure measures approximately 18 cm wide and 24 cm long and weighs about 1.5 pounds.

Also joining the lineup is the Spiral Toy Artisan Dynasty Mechagodzilla 1974 James Groman 1st Term Coloring figure. Created in collaboration with kaiju designer James Groman, this figure was sculpted, designed, and master painted by Groman himself, combining a black soft vinyl base with a retro skin-tone color treatment inspired by Americana toy aesthetics. Standing approximately 29 cm tall, 20 cm wide, and 30 cm long, the 1.5-pound figure emphasizes the mechanical details built into Groman’s sculpt while also showcasing his signature painting style.
