ADIDAS STAN SMITH X BRAIN DEAD

Posted on 2024-09-02

The sneakers surface in shades of “Vapour Pink,” “Shadow Green,” “Clear Brown,” and “Light Bahia Blue,” the striking selection of hues signaling a more colorful concept than Brain Dead’s recent “Unstructured” Stan Smith‘s which landed in black and white colorways. Similarly to its past Stan Smiths, Brain Dead brings its branding back to the upper, adding its perforated logo on the lateral side. However, the most notable feature on the new pickups is a turf-like detailing attached to the back of the heel, a tactic that has become a Brain Dead signature. The distressed details continue along the laces.

MASAYOSHI FUJITA – OCEAN FLOW

Posted on 2024-09-02

A move to Japan after 13 years in Berlin has sparked one of Masayoshi Fujita’s most life affirming statements yet as an artist. Migratory tracks the travels of birds and humans alike, with vibraphone and marimba unfolding in shimmering waves above the taut drones of the shō and the breeze of saxophones. Synths chirp and percussion chimes and everything slowly changes; the album expands with the expertly measured gait of Moor Mother’s spoken word on ‘Our Mother’s Lights’, musing on worldly connection through migration, and Hatis Noit’s gentle lullaby set to a verdant backdrop of cicada calls on ‘Higurashi’.

FENCED IN – SUBURBAN OASIS

Posted on 2024-09-02

In the last days of August, we long for that last bit of summer warmth, to connection with family and hold close that moment of peace and quiet before we all head back into the fall with darker days, colder weather and dispersed family. Time vanishes here, days don’t matter, with days filled with kids splashing in the pool and the nights filled with BBQ, s’mores and ghost stories. Backyards are the American dream, a patch of land we can call our own. Backyards become the gathering space, the place we live outside and filled with individuality.

Exhibition runs through to October 29th, 2024
