TweetThis hermetic and talented producer is highly recognized in the braindance community, sure to resonate with rephlexian types as steadily revealed in recent years through material uploads in different platforms. ‘Red EP’ features new tracks along with remastered ones from his archives (FIRST TIME AVAILABLE ON VINYL!), covering the sonic spectrum of splintered beats, bass, and intricately woven rhythms make up this shimmering braindance jewel.
TweetHuerco S. returns to his Loidis project after six years with its first full length record. One Day continues in the dizzying sound design vein of Plonk, but measured by bouncy lo-fi techno murmurs and microhouse splashes, with the synths on ‘Wait & See’ stretch and wobbling like putty. Echoes of dub bubble in underwater beat programming of ‘Tequa’, further blurring into two step rhythms with bass that bears a molten mixture of dance, funk, and ambient signatures.
TweetThe Los Angeles-based brand Born x Raised has been having an active summer with a range of collaborations that have enlisted names like Online Ceramics, Mister Cartoon, the Dodgers and more. Name the brand is taking a break from the bevy of collaborations to get back into its own wardrobe with its new mainline “When The Smoke Clears” collection.
The new offering sees its signature Old English font on staples like sweatshirts, sweatpants, graphic tees, mesh basketball shorts and more. Also included in these pieces is the return of the 8-Ball Party Wizard design and the phrase “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable.” But aside from those staple pieces, a collection standout is the new boxer briefs, which include a BXR waistband.
TweetDespite recent speculation and curious confirmations of an association with the pivotal Production House from those close to the source, the identity of those behind this mysteriously initialled 1991 breakbeat hardcore banger has remained a closely guarded secret for over thirty years. Despite not having a follow-up and not benefitting from the hype of big name credentials to justify inflated asking prices it has remained in high demand for over three decades as a constant in informed record bags and on discerning wantlists. It will come as little surprise to many then to find out that it is in fact the work of none other than House Crew stalwarts Floyd Dyce and MC Juice. The missing jewel in Dyce’s Production House crown, this sole FZ outing was released on one of a handful of short-lived Production House sub-labels that served as platforms for Dyce’s prodigious output, and can now take its rightful place alongside his other production and writing credits with the likes of Acen, The House Crew, Brothers Grimm, DMS and Baby D.
Available once again on 12″ black vinyl and licensed with the full cooperation of Dyce himself it has been faithfully remastered from the original source material with the lacquer cut by Beau Thomas.

TweetFrom Baltimore but with strong ties in New York, JIALING has spent the last few years earning a reputation as one of the underground’s finest club producers, self-releasing a steady stream of breaks, club and acid anthems while collaborating with the likes of Jersey Club legend KAYY DRiZZ and Baltimore standard-bearer Calvo. Most recently, she released her debut album 家 (jiā) to a rapturous reception in the scene, and remixed TREKKIE TRAX co-founder Seimei’s ‘Tokyo Funky Breaks’ on Sorry Records.
Although she wears her influences on her sleeve, drawing from a deep knowledge of North American club music history, JIALING has developed a way with percussion, samples and breaks science that makes her music instantly recognisable as her own, with a lasting power that lingers long after the tracks finish. With one foot in New York’s contemporary club scene and another in Baltimore’s vibrant new wave, FREAKY HORNS sets out JIALING’s manifesto for club music that’s steeped in history with an eye to the future.
