KEITH HARING CHESS SET

MoMA Exclusive!!! Enjoy a more playful game of chess with pieces adapted from some of Haring’s most beloved works. A cheerful set shaped after sketches that will be instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the artist, the Keith Haring Chess Set features pawns made of Haring’s barking dogs and castles shaped like men with their arms in the air. Crafted of turned and lacquered wood by the venerated toy firm Vilac, the Keith Haring Chess Set includes a white fabric bag to hold the pieces when not in use that features the artist’s 1989 self-portrait. The Keith Haring Chess Set board measures 12.6” square and pieces range from 0.5” (pawn) to 2.5” (king) tall.

HANON X DIADORA N9000 ‘ALTERNATIVE ROUTE’

During Summer 2014, Hanon and Diadora shook hands to create the N.9000 “Saturday Special”, a sneaker collaboration that was influenced by the UK’s trains and buses in the 1980s. Nearly seven years later, the two brands are choosing to converge for a follow-up installment dubbed the “Alternative Route” colorway which also carries influence from the European region’s special transportation services during the peak of football season.

ALICE MANN AND SEYDOU KEïTA

This exhibition pairs the work of two African photographers separated by many decades and the length of the continent, Seydou Keïta’s black and white portraits taken in Mali in the 1950s and ’60s and Alice Mann’s color photographs of South African “Drummies” taken in 2017 and 2018.

ANNE BERRY – BEHIND GLASS

Behind Glass is a series of portraits of primates made in small zoos throughout Europe. Alone, patient and silent, in these monkey houses I establish a more than passing connection with my subjects. I makes portraits that reveal the unique personality of each of these animals; it is clear that they are posing for me and that there exists a human-primate bond. My goal is to motivate people to feel compassion for primates and an obligation to protect them. Most of the primates I photograph qualify as endangered, and all of them are facing stress from loss of habitat and human activity. The plight of primates on earth is urgent; our indifference will condemn them to extinction, and we will follow.

Offering a skate-ready take on the Williams Slim and a more conceptual iteration of the bulky Court Graffik, each shoe is united by a black, white and yellow color scheme and special branding.

Stevie Williams‘ familiar Williams Slim boasts a white leather upper that’s constructed of ridged leather and overlaid by a black mudguard for a look that’s somewhat reminiscent of the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi.” Yellow DC branding hits the quarter and tongue, but is most visible on the latter thanks to a large rubberized badge with both parties’ logos. Black tongues, yellow laces/heel tabs and black midsoles/outsoles complete the look.

The bulky Court Graffik may be a skate shoe at its core, but here it’s all about casual style, boasting a super-sized fur tongue and printed fat laces. The tongue boasts the same rubberized badge as the Williams Slim, complete with a rabbit attempting to perform coitus on the DC logo, while uppers take on a quilted leather pattern with a white DC badge on the quarter and yellow heel tabs. Black outsoles round off the look.
