BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE – GOLDEN FACELIFT

Posted on 2015-01-05

“Golden Facelift is a song recorded during the Forgiveness Rock Record sessions, but ultimately did not make the final cut for one reason or another. It is a song we as a band all felt strongly about lyrically and musically and we wanted to give it a proper unveiling when the time was right. We feel that chance is now as this year draws to a close. 2014 has not been without its beauty, but it has also been a year of incredible brutality and all of humanity has a great deal to answer for. Broken Social Scene aims to echo the voice and concerns of the underdog while creating music that will hopefully inspire those who are doing good and useful things for this planet and humankind.”

PUMA X MEEK MILL

Posted on 2015-01-05

Puma and Meek Mill have teamed up for a new take on Puma’s iconic Suede Classic silhouettes. The ’24K White Gold’ pack consists of a high and low top version of the Suede Classic constructed from a metallic gold and silver base with patent leather on the heel panel as well as the Puma stripes. The sneakers feature a tonal, translucent midsole and a set of metallic laces with a Puma tongue label as the only point of contrast. A weathered pattern is seen on the upper resembling the look of tarnished gold or silver.

PENELOPE UMBRICO – SUN/SCREEN

Posted on 2015-01-05

Sun/Screen is a new project by award-winning New York based artist Penelope Umbrico, which continues her exploration of the ever increasing production and consumption of photographic images online.

Umbrico used an iPhone to re-photograph images of the sun she cropped from thousands of sunset images shared on the web. The process of capturing images directly from the computer screen creates a moiré pattern – an optical illusion, which is the consequence of the pixel grids, meshes or dot patterns being superimposed.

As the images dissolve into one another, they draw attention to the materiality of the screen and further distances us from the natural sunlight source of the original images.

Exhibition runs through till January 18th, 2015
