PETER ALEXANDER + SARAH BRAMAN

Posted on 2010-10-18

These two seemingly disparate artists coalesce in this show of sculpture and wall-mounted objects. The idea for this exhibition originated at NADA 2009 where Sarah Braman viewed Peter Alexander’s work for the first time. Her initial reaction and Alexander’s subsequent response to Braman’s work led to enthusiastic plans for this show.

Though Alexander and Braman are from opposite coasts and different generations, their works balance sinuously and occupy space with a shared sensitivity to situation and context. Each artist addresses concerns of perception, light, atmosphere, and spatial orientation, employing color and translucence and resolving their own formal pursuits in ways that are varied yet surprisingly compatible. In doing so, their work becomes a concrete, abstract response to a personal and atmospheric experience.

Exhibition runs through to December 18th,2010

ADIDAS TOP TEN – REMODEL

Posted on 2010-10-18

The ‘Remodel’ Top Ten takes the timeless styling of the original silhouette and imbues it with a contemporary twist through the use of modern production techniques and cutting edge materials, the result is an updated take that raises the bar in terms of comfortable, lightweight durability.

Featuring a slighter slimmer profile as well as a re-worked midsole and less padding on the ankle collar, everything on the shoe
feels a little more st ripped back.
The upper is constructed from a combination of premium leather and a soft, pliable fine gauge mesh that sits well with the reinterpretation of the model.
The black 3-Stripes pop out in a contrast ing welded on TPU , while the top 3 lace holes are replaced with a one-piece eyelet system that further contributes to the contemporary feel of the Top Ten Remodel.
Finished with an updated ‘Top Ten’ graphical tongue tag that plays
on the baller heritage of the silhouette, this is a re-edit of an icon
that’s not to be missed.

ADIDAS TOP TEN – ORIGINAL COLOURWAY

Posted on 2010-10-18

This OG version features all the elements that made the shoe such a hit first time round and proudly carries the Navy, Red and White colourway that first blew up on the pine boards over three decades ago.
The full grain premium leather upper, perforated toe-box, navy 3-Stripes and padded ankle collar with a dash of red are all present and correct.
30th Anniversary branding is presented in the form of a subt le
lace jewel that does nothing to detract from the overall appeal of the shoe, while the ‘Top Ten’ branding on the tongue harks back to the
days when the model was sported by some of the greatest ball players on the planet.

Featuring a timeless black, red and grey colourway on a white upper, this interpretation gives more than a nod to some of the models earlier iconic colourways.
The addition of a grey flannel material on the tongue and
padded ankle collar works with other material contrasts on
the upper like the black patent leather toecap and full grain

Finishing touches include an embroidered oversized ‘O’ for
Originals on the tongue, embroidered adidas foxing running
vertically down the heel and branded ‘Top Ten’ lace eyelets that stay true to the spirit of the original model.
