DJ Plead hits top gear for Livity Sound delivering four tracks of his inimitable rhythm workouts for the aptly titled ‘Going For It’ EP. Filtering influences from both UK Funky and jungle alongside Dabke and Mahraganat, these irresistible percussion tracks fizz with energy and invention.

Alfredo situates this emcee-producer combo at the head of the table, overseeing classy jazz-inflected samples and bountiful rap wordplay from themselves and their dinner guests. ‘Scottie Beam’ pits Gibbs’ modern gangsta sensibilities alongside the filthy verses of Rick Ross. Meanwhile, the duo show that lyrical crime pays with ‘Something To Rap’, which surely features Tyler, The Creator’s finest and most low-key introspective verse to date.

Douniah is a singer and songwriter based in Berlin. She was born in Morocco and grew up in Hamburg. Douniah started making music at the age of 15, writing poems and short stories, she taught herself how to play guitar and started performing in local venues a year later. her sound represents what she grew up with: Indigenous Moroccan music, hip-hop and all kinds of jazz. Starting last year, she released songs with Farhot and Cap Kendricks and is one half of the duo Douniah & High John who released their debut album “Dream Baby” in November 2019 on Melting Pot Music. High John’s warm, lo-fi beats and Douniah’s rich, soul-souked voice interact in a very natural way, combining R&B elements, Jazz, Soul and poetry.

Those familiar with Martin Haidinger’s work as Gimmik might be surprised by a beatless return from Haidinger.
