At the heart of the exhibition is a site-specific installation composed of foraged moss, branches, grasses, and other natural elements gathered from the Pacific Northwest. For the first time, Simmons translates her outdoor practice into an interior gallery, carrying the moisture, scent, and texture of Washington State’s temperate rainforests into the Arizona desert. The resulting environment evokes a liminal terrain—part ancient, part speculative—where sculptural forms appear as remnants of human presence embedded within a living ecosystem.

SUSAN BURNSTINE – THROUGH THE MIST

Through the Mist features new works from Burnstine’s color series Where Shadows Cease alongside images from Iar Connacht, shot in the tranquil Irish countryside. Burnstine’s artistic practice has long been dedicated to exploring alternative processes within photography. Using twenty one self-made film cameras, primarily constructed with plastic, vintage camera parts, random household objects, and with single-element lenses molded from plastic and rubber, she captures distorted yet vivid images while relying on instinct and intuition.

ETHAN AARO JONES – ECCENTRIC NIGHTS

Eccentric Nights brings together a striking body of work created by Ethan Aaro Jones during a summer spent just south of the Arctic Circle, where the sun hovered above the horizon for more than nine consecutive days. Immersed in this extraordinary cycle of continuous daylight, Jones turned his attention to the shifting bands of blazing orange light that moved across his bedroom walls at night. The experience unsettled familiar rhythms, prompting him to reconsider the very notion of nightfall and how much of daily life depends on darkness that, in this place, simply never arrived.
