Charline von Heyl was born in Germany in 1960 and has lived in the United States since 1996. She studied painting in Hamburg and Düsseldorf and participated in the Cologne-based art scene in the 1980s. She currently divides her time between New York, NY and Marfa, TX.

Von Heyl’s first survey show was at Le Consortium, Dijon in 2009. Her first U.S. museum show was at the Dallas Museum of Art in 2005 and her first US survey was at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia in 2011.

Her work has been exhibited both in the United States and abroad, including solo museum exhibitions at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Germany (2018); Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC (2018); the Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Deurle, Belgium (2018); Corbett vs. Dempsey, Chicago (2015); the Tate Liverpool, United Kingdom (2012); the Kunsthalle Nurnberg, Germany (2012); Le Consortium, Dijon, France (2009), and the Vienna Secession, Vienna, Austria (2004), among many others.

REYNIER LEYVA NOVO – THE FLOWERS OF MY EXILE

Reynier Leyva Novo, a prominent participant and documentarian of what has become known as the 27N movement – a demand among Cuba’s younger generation of artists for freedom of expression and identity – is also an internationally recognized conceptual artist whose elegant minimalist works expose the hidden machinations of power in Cuba and the USA. Novo has been represented by Lisa Sette Gallery since 2014 and his works are in the public collections of the Hirshhorn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Perez Art Museum, Walker Art Center, Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art, Bronx Museum, Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation, and Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, among others; he was featured at the 2017 Venice Biennale and was recently awarded the Pommery Prize at the 2022 Armory Show. Opening this May, Lisa Sette Gallery will exhibit The Flowers of My Exile, a selection of new and recent projects that trace Novo’s journey as a dissident artist in Cuba to his current status as an artist in exile in the USA.

THE CANTERVILLE GHOST

The only problem is – he keeps scaring them away! Finally, a family move in who refuse to be startled, and Sir Simon is able to tell his tale to the inquisitive and courageous Virginia (Emily Carey).

SNIP SNIP CRAB KAIJU BY JUBI

Taiwanese artist JUBI serves up his speciality with the new Snip Snip Crab Kaiju soft vinyl art toys. Known for his numerous crab vinyls ranging from fierce and realistic to cute little crustaceans including this new trio.

While similar at first glance, each of the three crabs is based on a real crab species with its own unique sculpt with different shaped shells, claws and mouths in a design-specific colorway. The trio includes the Brown Crab, Blue Crab and Vampire Crab. Each figure features articulated claws for playful poses.
