The film explores the roots of culture. The roots that allow life to connect to the source. adidas has long been connected to Jamaican culture through the roots of music and love of football, the beautiful game. All these connections are close to Chronixx’s heart.
Chronixx and his peers are creating something that has echoes of the past, but is reinvented into something entirely new – a philosophy that is shared by adidas SPEZIAL.

TweetFor SS17 SPEZIAL turns its attention to the parallels between British casual culture and Jamaican reggae culture. Two cultures which, at first glance, seem glaringly different but share a host of commonalities. Linked through a love of music, football and fashion, the two subcultu resare paid tribute to in reinvented staples of modern menswear. Military inspired jackets, full tracksuits, knitted polos, iconic 3 stripe trainers and leisure shoes all play a part in nodding towards two distinct cultures, and highlighting our similarities rather than our differences.
Iconic adidas footwear silhouettes like the Atlanta SPZL and Jogger SPZL alongside hybrid designsthat have now become of signature of the Spezial range. The adidas Brisbane leisure shoe isreinvented, a mid-top silhouette featured in the exhibition that launched SPEZIAL comes asa low cut shoe entitled the Garwen SPZL. This season’s footwear carries integral appeal that stretches across both of the world’s that inspired the collection .
SS17 sees the return of adidas SPEZIAL’s premium tracksuit and outerwear executions, the Haslingden jacket being reconfigured to nod to the military aesthetic of casuals and reggae culture. Featuressuch as interchangeable patches on the military jackets have been incorporated as subtle nods to subcultures past, whilst still grounding the collection in the design language of modern adidasproduct.

Absolut presents ‘Room Service’, an Art Bar by João Vasco Paiva during Hong Kong Art Week 2017.
Considered one of Hong Kong’s leading emerging contemporary artists, Paiva will put a spin on the concept of retreat to create an oasis in which the contemporary and natural worlds coincide. Room Service features a series of sculptures, film projections and resting nets, inspired by Hindu vernacular architecture and residential buildings from present-day life. The film projections will show videos of abandoned places in Hong Kong – from ruins of villages that have been recaptured by nature to daily commodities displayed in shop fronts.
The Art Bar also features a series of Artist Cocktails, specially curated by Paiva and will host a diverse musical programme.
Room Service will open on March 17th through to April 2nd 2017, from 8pm until late at Potato Head.
