OLOF DREIJER, DIVA CRUZ – BRUJAS EP
2024-06-03The Knife’s Olof Dreijer teams up with Swedish percussionist/DJ Diva Cruz for a new collaborative EP on Dekmantel entitled Brujas. As two longtime social and political activists, Dreijer and Cruz naturally tackle a host of societal ills across Brujas, with Cruz taking the powers to be to task while debuting her voice and lyricism on record for the very first time. Inspired by her Colimbian upbringing, the percussive ‘Black Queen’ in particular confronts the machismo and sexual violence so prevelent in the world of Latin American culture as well as the music and art that reflects it to the rest of the world.
