KODE9 – THE BREAK UP
2022-08-08Hyperdub boss Kode9 returns to his home label for his first full length since 2015 entitled Escapology. The LP is the soundtrack album to the sonic fiction Astro-Darien, which will be released in October on Hyperdub’s sub-label Flatlines. Other facets of the slowly gestating project have included the sonic installations Kode9 has staged since 2021 at South London’s Corsica Studios. Inspired in part by the musique concrète concepts of the 1950’s, Escapology adds some contemporary bass and club strands to the DNA, making for a fascinating musical element to Kode9’s sprawling opus.
