2025-02-10Morgane Lhote continues to honour her foundational years in the glitz and glamour of 80s Paris’s bustling underground nightlife as Hologram Teen, inaugurating her very own label Hologram Opera (which she runs with Holy Sun Opera House) with her fourth album Captain Fluo. Punchy drum machine beats and piano stabs strut along to the album’s metropolitan tone, breezy in a joyous montage on tracks like ‘Actarus’ as strings blossom in. Her influences shine on ‘Wolkman’, centring her keyboard performance with punctuated and staccato synthpop, meanwhile ‘Pack Ur Patience’ features a deep house inflected four to the line driving Sandra Zettpunkt’s steely vocal hooks.
