2019-09-16Seeing Beacon’s music refracted through the stylistic prisms of their contemporaries has yielded more than a few exciting experiments. Spanning several remix albums since 2013, the New York-based duo have invited edits from Fort Romeau, Kim Ann Foxman, Tomas Barfod and others. They continue the tradition with Gravity Pairs Remixes, out September 13th, 2019 on Ghostly International. This edition features three distinct takes on singles from their 2018 LP. Ghostly labelmate Helios brings his trademark warble to “Bending Light,” enhancing the original’s brightness as well as its percussive climb to cinematic effect. Montréal’s CRi, best known for his work on Anjunadeep and TOKiMONSTA’s esteemed Young Art label, spins “Be My Organ” into a euphoric dance track, recasting vocal snippets as anthemic refrains. “On Ice” is thoroughly melted by Elkka, rising London-based DJ, producer, and founder of the label and art collective femme culture.
