REPURPOSED FW17 ALYX X VANS
2018-10-22ALYX has collaborated with the brand for two seasons, Spring Summer 17 and Fall Winter 17. Designer and founder Matthew Williams is a California native and ALYX is often inspired by the skate culture of his youth. The SS17 Vans collaboration centered around iconic styles using the fabrication and details true to the nature of ALYX. The second season collaboration reintroduced three archived silhouettes which had not been released for over two decades and readapted them with a personality and identity true to ALYX.
Concerning the construction of the items, the sneakers were manufactured using a special, exclusive rubber treatment; were “coated in durable liquid rubber and baked” to improve durability and rubber-dipped and treated by hand in Italy.
