D*FACE
2015-06-29D*Face can be considered one of the most provocative of today’s street artists, a term the artist himself says that he detests. Through his use of Pop Art’s images and subtlety, his narrative style frequently refers to the fragility of life while reflecting popular culture, the notion of “good” triumphing over “evil”, and the stereotypes of the “American Dream”. Using a recognisable style, he encourages visitors to question the curious growth of fascination with celebrity, fame and the consumerism associated with this phenomenon. Wasted Youth, the first solo exhibition on D*Face to be held in a Spanish museum, offers a continuation of this discourse. It presents a new group of 39 works, some of them specifically created for this event and including large-scale paintings on canvas that are reinterpretations of images adapted to the artist’s classics, and installation works.
Exhibition runs through to September 27th, 2015
