Katy Grannan: Mad River, is an exhibition of new photographs made in Northern California’s Humboldt County, where Grannan has recently been living and working. In the ongoing portrait series, on view for the first time, Grannan depicts subjects who reflect the independent spirit of an area known for the privacy and seclusion it offers. Often building relationships with her subjects, Grannan explores the connections between self-presentation and place, creating a kind of collaborative fiction.

IN COMMON PRACTICE

In Common Practice celebrates the work of participants from two vibrant CPW artistic communities: Lesly Deschler Canossi’s Monthly Crit Group and the Project Salon led by Charles Purvis.

Both programs, which began in 2024 and have each hosted three artist cohorts to date, embody the artists’ ongoing commitment to developing their work and craft in collaboration with fellow creators through conversation and inquiry. These initiatives foster connections that extend beyond CPW, creating lasting networks of mutual support and artistic exchange within the broader creative community.

The exhibition offers a variety of styles, techniques, and perspectives, highlighting individual expression and creativity while celebrating the collective journey of artistic development. Each work reflects not only personal vision but also the enriching influence of peer engagement and supportive critique that ripples outward, strengthening the wider artistic ecosystem.

GAVSBORG & ITA – RECORDED IN SOUTH LONDON

The Equiknoxx Label presents a stunning 5-track release which features longtime collaborators, Gavsborg and ItA, combining in fine style. The tracks are pulled from a project that was recorded in two freestyle sessions in South London in fall of 2024. ItA vocals burn brightly across the set with Gavsborg’s production entering new zones of brilliance on the varied but cohesive set.

MARK STEINMETZ – SUMMERTIME // LOVE

WAGZ – DREAMCATCHER

Sheffield-based producer Wagz follows up on his Metalheadz debut with the five track ‘Dreamcatcher EP’.

Where the ‘Back Burner EP’ introduced his warm and distinct approach to the label’s catalogue, this new EP now expands upon those vibes – balancing stripped-back rhythms with atmospheric detail and delicate melodic touches. The result is a set of tracks that nod to the label’s classic lineage while retaining Wagz’s own signature style, with music that is functional on the floor but equally rewarding in close listening.

JASSS – KINDNESS OVER TALENT

Spanish-born, Berlin-based artist JASSS, presents her third LP, Eager Buyers. It’s the inaugural release on her own new platform called AWOS, which also encompasses musical, AV and art collaborations, live events, and a radio show. Eager Buyers is an observation of longing, of memory, of attempted connection, of lost innocence, and irreconcilable dreams. It’s the sound of broken promises for a bright future, where rose-tinted glasses have lost their clarity, dirtied with disa!ection over time. Across this sultry, smoky, cinematic epic, JASSS attempts to process mixed feelings amidst the modern malaise.
