ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU SHOULD DO X ADIDAS

Posted on 2024-03-11

Championing Always Do What You Should Do’s background and community ties to the world of skateboarding, surfing, and “telling your friends you love them,” the brand is paying homage to the Superstar silhouette with the main elements highlighted on the insole, tongue and outer sole.

The sneaker’s upper is also constructed with sustainable synthetic leather, featuring a standout puffy tongue with Always’ customary @sun logo. A high-vis reflective heel tab with interchangeable lace options is then included to play further on ADWYSD’s brand ethos and a map of New Zealand proudly features on the gumsole.

CEEPHAX ACID CREW – CEERIAL PORT

Posted on 2024-03-11

The WeMe label dusts off some classic acidic productions with this reissue of Ceephax Acid Crew’s 2006 EP Ceerial Port. Tracks like the skin-crawlingly tense ‘Red Dx Acid’ share wax space here with more playful fare like the warpspeed ‘Acid Surf Dream’ without diluting the impact. The closing mid-tempo roller ‘Woodlice Acid’ proves Ceephax can get his point across with a lighter touch, too. As played by Aphex Twin at Field Day 2023.

ANA MANSO – MENSTRUUM

Posted on 2024-03-11

Led by a conscious being, who believes they can legitimately manipulate a series of techniques and subjects, we can understand the act of painting (by which we mean making a painting) as one of many processes of sedimentation in nature. However, what we might call a framed geochemical micro-event loses all its inherent relevance where the nature of painting emerges in the sensory phenomenon of sight. In this optical oxymoron (the painting), the settled surface is presented as inevitably diaphanous in its own opacity; the painting refuses to be
simultaneously object and image – ‘a painting is a magic stone,’ as Ana Manso once said.

U – PARADE

Posted on 2024-03-11

London based enigma U has a devotion to texturising the club’s contents. Since first arriving on Phantasy Sound in 2014, they have lingered at the edges of a dazed and hazy dancefloor with a curious crosspollination of styles and sounds. Records for ManMakeMusic, Technicolour, and Where To Now? constantly morph and blend, seeming to come from a hardcore ravers’ paradise and an abstract murky dream sequence all at once. Following their last release for the label in 2021, U is back with another EP that pulls and sculpts dance music into metamorphic forms.
