UMBRO X PERCIVAL

Posted on 2023-05-08

Chris Grove’s Percival is a regular collaborator and lover of all things British. Most recently, the imprint has connected with the likes of Duke + Dexter and Slazenger, and now, Percival is collaborating with Umbro, as the duo looks to encapsulate the beautiful game of football for their new campaign.

The new collection features styles that reference every facet of the football experience. For example, Percival and Umbro’s new drop includes co-branded football jerseys, while training kits — pictured alongside bags of footballs — are hit with bold striped detailing in hues of red and yellow.

PAM POSEY – THEREABOUT

Posted on 2023-05-08

In Thereabout, Posey reflects on her lifelong fascination with the landscape, tracing her journey from early experiments with abstraction in the 70’s, to her current explorations of painting from memory, imagination, and place. As Posey explains, “it’s not just what I see in my head, but what I see happening as I paint that I seek to understand and depict.”

During the pandemic, Posey spent countless hours in her studio, looking through photos of the places she’s been and using them to ignite her memory of being there. She reimagined these places in a way that involved mapping her experience of being in landscape into painting, creating movement between intuition and intention. The paintings in Thereabout are a result of this process, depicting the landscapes that she has visited and reimagined; each painting becoming a place that she has simultaneously viewed and created. As Posey explains, “Painting is both intentional and exploratory, a call and response system. As characters are said to take on life of their own for the writer, so too does the landscape take on its own growth and weather for the painter.”

THE LINDA MCCARTNEY RETROSPECTIVE

Posted on 2023-05-01

Featuring 176 photographs and additional archival materials that offer insight into her working methods, the exhibition is presented in three sections: Family, Photographic Experimentation, and Artists. Family features poignant and direct accounts of her life as mother, wife, and animal activist. Having moved to London with her new husband Paul in 1969, Linda documented her extraordinary version of domestic life, and these self-portraits, slices from life, and portraits of her husband, children, and beloved animal companions provide powerful access to her particular perspective. Throughout her photographic career, McCartney “sketched” by taking Polaroid images, experimented with various photographic processes, explored color and black-and-white film, and partnered with artistic collaborators. The Photographic Experimentation section includes several artworks that are unique to the CCP version of the exhibition. In the third section, Artists, we see McCartney’s early portraits of the dynamic 1960s music scene which capture the vulnerability of future world-conquering rock stars.
