THE NEW YORK TIMES X KNICKERBOCKER

Posted on 2022-10-10

New York-based streetwear label Knickerbocker has tapped The New York Times for a collaborative capsule collection inspired by the garments worn by workers in the printing press and on delivery-truck highways.

Inside the range, T-shirts in varying muted tones don the famed newspaper’s logo on their front pockets, with illustrations depicting fresh stacks of print on their backs. Cardigans provide a warmer alternative top silhouette in both navy and grey, while a white oxford shirt truly resembles the New York Times staff attire.

THOMAS RUFF – d.o.pe.

Posted on 2022-10-10

The exhibition debuts Ruff’s d.o.pe. series, the title of which references Aldous Huxley’s autobiographical volume The Doors of Perception, published in 1954. In this text, Huxley details his experiments with mind-altering drugs, ultimately meditating on the broadening of consciousness through artificial means. This new body of work extends Ruff’s ongoing exploration of human perception and his interest in creating digital imagery that, while artificially constructed, appears naturally derived.

LEO COPERS – ?!

Posted on 2022-10-10

Leo Copers is mostly known for his sculptures, installations and performances, and has since the beginning of his artistic practice obtained a unique place in the Belgian art scene. Going against the tide, Copers started to reintroduce metaphors and symbols into a visually conceptual practice. By using antagonistic objects, in surreal and alienating combinations, he aims at creating tensions, both figuratively and literally. His objects and installations are on – and often over – the edge of being alarmingly dangerous and destructive and thus challenge our built-in expectations in a very visceral way. Water, fire and electricity for example are often connected in a way that makes us cringe with fear while being moved by its poetic beauty. On the verge of danger, on the edge of life.
