“I wanted to try and create a sense of space or calm within the tracks, even if only subtle. I suppose it was a reflection on the crazy state of the world and needing to find space within myself to stay grounded and get through it”
From the deep bass and irresistible skank of Grapefruit to the rapid yet ice cool propulsion of Microshift and the spacious yet energised rhythms of Make It Circular and Constant, this new record further explores Lack’s fractured techno aesthetic, skilfully joining the dots between broken dub techno and vintage dubstep.
O$VMV$M – WEEKEND SAVIOUR
2021-07-05Sam Barrett and Amos Childs aka O$VMV$M return to No Corner with Weekend Saviour, and fittingly enough, there are hints of their past all over this 12”. ‘Bird Ride’ echoes the duo’s earlier bass-oriented sound, pairing raspy drum programming with a curiously sunny reggaeton melody line akin to DJ Lycox. Meanwhile, this disc’s title track harnesses this melody and transforms it into a noir-ish electronic chug of downtempo hi-hats and a menacing piano key thud.
TweetC.P. COMPANY REMASTERED ARCHIVE COLLECTION
2021-07-05Taking eye-catching imagery from the C.P. Company archive and reimagining them into contemporary items of Italian sportswear, the Remastered Archive collection also pays homage to the initial graphic design history of the brand. Featuring iconic prints from various landmarks in the C.P. Company story so far, each of the five limited edition t-shirts take their theme from a different logo or graphic.
Whilst the look and feel of the t-shirts is also a reference to both past designs and modern aesthetics, having been constructed using heavyweight cotton alongside a looser fit and a higher neckline.
