WORKING CLASS HEROES X FOR BUTTER GOODS

Posted on 2021-07-19

Working Class Heroes is on its travels again, this time to showcase the new Butter Goods capsule.

Founded in Perth, Australia, Butter Goods has become renowned as a brand which utilises bold graphics and logos and houses them on classic skate wear styles and silhouettes, and for its Fall/Winter 2021 collection of apparel and accessories, it’s no different.

Admirers of the great outdoors, British retailer Working Class Heroes put pieces of the capsule to the test alongside products from the likes of Helinox, Snow Peak and more, heading into the wilderness for a spot of camping amidst an unpredictable British summer.

THIS IS THE DAY

Posted on 2021-07-19

Throughout American history, the Black church has been a pillar of the community, a place for worship and organizing, a provider of spiritual and political leadership, and a target for terrorism and bombings. Above all, the Black church has endured, remaining resilient through both victories and losses.

This Is the Day brings together 24 artistic representations of Black faith and spirituality, including the work of Bruce Davidson, Faith Ringgold, and Arkansas-based photographer Aaron Turner, that illuminate the resilience of the Black church and the community it has served for more than 300 years. From depictions of joy to quiet moments of prayer to images of departure through funerals and terrorism, this focus exhibition displays the church’s significant role in Black history and culture that still endures today.

JOSHUA VIDES X THE HUNDREDS

Posted on 2021-07-19

Joshua Vides is notorious for his signature black and white design language as it’s been seen in various forms from an installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago to his own collection with Fendi and more. And for this team-up he takes many of his favorite The Hundreds pieces and reworks them through his lens. The iconic Paisley print is reimagined in bigger fashion on pullover hoodies and tees and he styles the iconic Adam Bomb with a grayscale look. Other notable pieces include that of the paint splattered trousers that come in white/black and black/white colorways, as well as the skate deck that features a co-branded hit on top and a black and white Adam Bomb on the bottom.

CODA

Posted on 2021-07-19

Gifted with a voice that her parents can’t hear, seventeen-year-old Ruby (Emilia Jones), is the sole hearing member of a deaf family, a CODA, Child of Deaf Adults. Her life revolves around acting as interpreter for her parents (Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur) and working on the family’s struggling fishing boat every day before school with her father and older brother (Daniel Durant). But when Ruby joins her high school’s choir club, she discovers a gift for singing and finds herself drawn to her duet partner Miles (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo). Encouraged by her enthusiastic, tough-love choirmaster (Eugenio Derbez) to apply to a prestigious music school, Ruby finds herself torn between the obligations she feels to her family and the pursuit of her own dreams.
