ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG – NIGHT SHADES AND PHANTOMS

Posted on 2021-04-12

Robert Rauschenberg’s Night Shades and Phantoms are two series of metal paintings from 1991, composed of silk-screened photographic images and gestural strokes on aluminium supports. Made during his decade-long experimentations with metal, these paintings are characterised by their grayscale palette, which ranges from the Night Shades’ painterly chiaroscuro to the Phantoms’ mirrored surfaces and ethereal translucency.

CLOT X MIYAGIHIDETAKA

Posted on 2021-04-12

CLOT is back with its second collaboration with MIYAGIHIDETAKA. With a sold-out first release in June 2020, this time around both brands bring back the patchwork mentality with CLOT’s iconic Silk Royale print mixed with a range of vintage fabrics, all hand-sewn together to make six different shirt styles.

MIYAGIHIDETAKA is known for its bandana-laden designs, featuring repurposed vintage bandanas and fabrics crafted into different designs. Similarly for this collection, Hidetaka Miyagi and his team collected different types of vintage fabrics from paisley bandanas to striped fabrics – then handcrafting shirts mixed with CLOT’s Silk Royale. Each piece is hand-made with slight variations, available in blue, red, black and white colorways featuring both long and short sleeve styles.

8-year-old Jenny (Violet McGraw) is constantly caught in the middle of the feuding between her lawyer mother Maggie (Mamie Gummer) and artist father Jeff (Rupert Friend). She leads a lonely but imaginative life, surrounded by puppets called “Grisly Kin”, which are based on the works of her father. When Maggie is tragically killed in a hit-and-run, Jeff and Jenny try to piece together a new life. But when Maggie’s father (Brian Cox) sues for custody, and babysitter Samantha (Madeline Brewer) tries to be the new woman of the house, life in their Brooklyn townhome takes a dark turn. The puppets and frightening characters come to life and Jenny is the only person who can see them. When the motives of the ghoulish creatures become clear, the lives of everyone are put very much in jeopardy.
