QUASAR – WALK EP

Posted on 2020-12-21

“This EP is a part of me. It’s about the evolution of my state of mind in recent years, my mistakes, my successes, my loves. A really emotional release for me, with a real evolution happening between A1 and B2. I hope you can feel the same emotions as I did while composing them.”

HODGE – REMIXES IN BLUE

Posted on 2020-12-21

Just after the start of lockdown, Hodge aka Jacob Martin released his debut LP, Shadows In Blue, his first foray into the world of the long player. Gaining critical acclaim, and with clubbing on hold indefinitely, the album makes the most of that flexibility, building on his dancefloor sensibilities while making good on the experimental tendencies that have long lain just beneath the surface of his music.

Fast forward a further half year and Lockdown 2.0 is in full effect in the UK, but this time we want club bangers, a sense of release, the urge to dance. And with this, 7 producers, 6 remixes from a collective of like-minded musicians being let lose to rewire tracks with the club space in mind.

NATIVE PHOTOGRAPHERS IN THE FIELD

Posted on 2020-12-21

Developing Stories: Native Photographers in the Field features two sequential photo essays by Native photojournalists Russel Albert Daniels and Tailyr Irvine, created in collaboration with the National Museum of the American Indian. The work of both photographers springs from the same desires: to break down stereotypes of Native peoples and to portray stories that show the diversity and complexity of their contemporary lives.

Each photographer explores an issue that has long been of personal interest and touches the lives of Native people in a specific community. Their compelling, never-before-seen photography and essays provide thought-provoking insights into twenty-first century Native life and nuanced perspectives on an American experience that is largely invisible to mainstream society.

Exhibition runs through to January 10th, 2021

BERLUTI PULSE SNEAKER

Posted on 2020-12-21

Kris Van Assche’s tenure at Berluti has been reliably denoted by swathes of bold, vivid color, but that doesn’t mean that the entire output is doused in bright tones. Van Assche’s newest footwear design, the Pulse, restrains its palette to achieve New Wave cool, instead emphasizing a sleek shape and premium craft.

Sportswear inspiration informs the tooled sole unit, which is thick, grippy and color-blocked, with an upper no less indebted to retro flair. Here, shapely panels of canvas, nylon and leather are interwoven with different tones to create a visage that’s light and readable. Hand-stitched accents and stamped Berluti crests embody opulence, in line with the sneaker’s two primary textile choices.
