It’s essentially an elaborate break room, a space in which computer generated scenarios can be acted out by individuals from the comfort of their sofa. Disrupt’s The Recreation Room easily slots the concept into cosmic dub mastery, morphing 1s and 0s into great mindscapes of sonic bliss.

2019-09-23Since publishing his series Surf Texas with the University of Texas Press in 2014, Kenny Braun has focused his attention on the natural wonders of Texas. In his series As Far as You Can See published in 2018, Braun portrays the full range of Texas’s natural landscapes. Between the deserts of West Texas and the swamps of East Texas, Braun shares unexpected views as well as the adventurous spirit his home state has cultivated within him.
Born in Houston, Kenny Braun now lives and works in Austin. His work is included in numerous private and public collections including The Wittliff Collections at Texas State University. As an editorial photographer his work can be seen in Texas Monthly, Wired, Southern Living, Texas Highways, Southwest: The Magazine, This Old House, and more.

POP TRADING COMPANY X POPEYE

Dubbed POP/EYE, the capsule collection consists of long- and short-sleeved T-shirts, a hoodie, a knitted jumper, and a small selection of wearable accessories.

RON GORCHOV – AT THE CUSP OF THE 80s, PAINTINGS 1979–1983
2019-09-23The new exhibition will feature rarely seen works that Gorchov made more than a decade after he developed his unique method of working on a curved surface, which he began in 1966 and brought to fruition the following year with his first “saddle” paintings, a format he has continued to explore ever since.
By the close of the 1970s, Gorchov’s work had already been included in the Whitney Museum’s survey exhibition, Young America 1960: Thirty American Painters Under Thirty-Six, and in two of its biennials, in 1975 and 1977, the year that Morris Kearse published a feature story on the artist in Artforum about his work.
Kearse wrote, “Gorchov set out to resolve the uncertainty in his own way.” His use of the shaped canvas “argues, as it were,
with flatness,” and while he “does not use paint as an illusory artifice, […] neither does he attempt to conceal allusions
to depth implied by the multiple layers in his work.”
