2017-02-20Beneath has been taking UK club stylings to the darkside for a while now, reimagining classic techno and UK funky drum patterns through the lens of someone who’s clearly spent a lot of time with early Wiley and Dizzee. A-side ‘Seeus’ recalls Kahn & Neek’s ‘Backchat’ (the first Hotline release) by looping a short vocal snippet over a propulsive, tough riddim. On the flip ‘Ovaride’ slows an Eski beat down to 120 bpm.
