Jamie Smith, is releasing a solo single called “Far Nearer”.
“It’s a tune I made on one of our short breaks from touring and I was eager to make some new music,” said the producer. “I got a steel pan and made this track and it is coming out on Numbers Records in about a month or so.”
The song premieres on Xfm’s “X-Posure”, which at 10 p.m. London time (5 p.m. EST) on the 28th of September
The band have partnered up with shoe company Keep on this project, with all profits going towards the Socorro Island Conservation Fund, which aims to protect the Revillagigedo Archipelago off Baja California.
Avey Tare has designed the Tobin, a lo-cut slip on while Deakin has designed The Guerra high-top inspired by scuba diving sessions and his “awe of the ocean world.
All pre-orders come with a bonus cassette featuring previously unreleased music by the band.
Disco summer slams from A-Trak and Armand Van Helden AKA Duck Sauce. ?uestlove on drums, while Santigold, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, DJ Premier and others pop up in the NYC based video.

Porsche has a habit of turning concept cars into production reality, the Boxster and Carrera GT as recent examples and it hasn’t disappointed with the 918 Spyder, which has been given the green light for development.
New technology endows the Spyder with spectacular performance and Green Party pleasing efficiency; claimed figures of 94mpg and 70g/km of CO2 emissions mix, a 198mph top speed and a 0-62mph time of 3.2sec.
Expect a production version of the 918 Spyder by 2013 at the earliest, and don’t expect a lot of of change from half a million pounds.
A celebration of the renowned illustrator René Gruau (1909-2004), who created some of the most iconic fashion images of the 20th century. This exciting exhibition will showcase groundbreaking artworks including original illustrations for Christian Dior Parfums, vintage perfume bottles, sketches and magazines, as well as a selection of Dior Haute Couture dresses.
René Gruau’s bold lines and fluid style were perfectly in tune with the spirit of Dior, capturing the energy, elegance and audacity of the brand. His illustrations also tell of a special understanding Gruau had of Christian Dior himself, born of a close friendship between the two men. Gruau influenced the graphic style of a whole generation of fashion illustrators and the exhibition will feature specially commissioned pieces from six UK based illustrators, whose works will draw inspiration from the rich collaboration between Gruau and the House of Dior.
