2018-05-14Martijn Deijkers has kept a relatively low profile since 2015. Now he drops Angels, a three-track EP out on Steffi’s Dolly Dubs label, has him firing on all cylinders. Opener ‘41W’ is an instant classic – bringing together Detroit synth stabs, a rugged bassline and groovy two-step, it intimates that Martyn has been rinsing Special Request’s Belief System. Elsewhere we have the eerie rave tune ‘Body Music’, while the title track is a techno roller in the vein of Martyn A-listers like ‘Masks’.
