LUCRECIA DALT – DIVINA
2025-06-02Everything whirrs and sparks on Lucrecia Dalt’s latest album A Danger to Ourselves, as she explores a newfound honesty following grand narrative works of time travelling bolero and dreamlike identity shifts. Slick bass, aching saxophone, and emotive piano are splashed with a crackle of noise, as if bringing them sharply to the realm of reality where Dalt’s voice arrives with an immediacy on opening ‘cosa rara’, with gnashing drums and fingers scrabbling over guitar. Where Dalt works pop adjacent structures into her own distinct universe, she also rattles against them, sneering amidst a lurking bassline and shuffling scrapyard percussion on ‘no death no danger’.
