LAKSA – WORKOUT EP
2017-12-18The Timedance/Ilian Tape producer Laksa steps out on the Bedouin Records-affiliated Bastakiya Tapes with this bold techno two-track. ‘Workout’ is a cut that does what it says on the tin. This roller will up the energy of any rave as well as putting the speaker cones and subwoofers through their paces. A mix of techno, grime and dub in a manner similar to Timedance label mates Batu and Lurka, the groove has a nice giddy feeling that is only heightened as the track wears on. Laksa eases off slightly for the flip ‘RAM’, a track that further teases out the dub elements present in ‘Workout’ in a way that obliquely recalls Kahn’s soundsystem bangers.
