WIND AND SEA is set to launch a special triple collaboration with legendary hip-hop crew De La Soul and the beloved ’90s rhythm action game PaRappa the Rapper. The collection is a tribute to rhythm, peace and creativity. This unique partnership was inspired by De La Soul’s music video “Say ‘I Gotta Believe!,” where PaRappa makes a special appearance.

A central design element across the collection is the daisy, symbolizing De La Soul’s motto, “D.A.I.S.Y.” (Da Inner Sound, Y’all), and PaRappa’s love interest, Sunny Funny, a flower character. The collection also features De La Soul’s classic track “Eye Know,” emphasizing the theme of love. Highlights include denim jackets and sweat sets adorned with playful characters, long-sleeve and short-sleeve tees featuring artist photos of De La Soul, and an all-over daisy pattern S/S shirt. Accessories like gold necklaces, blankets and tote bags are also part of the lineup.

After a series of plagues and wars leaves society in ruins, the Freemans are surviving — even thriving — on a farm in the middle of nowhere… so long as they repel the occasional raiding party. Former soldier Hailey (Danielle Deadwyler) and her partner Galen (Michael Greyeyes) fled the collapse along with their children, training them to fight (and, yes, kill). But now Hailey’s eldest Emanuel (Kataem O’Connor) is a young man, and when he meets a young woman (Milcania Diaz-Rojas) in the forest beyond the fence, his need for human contact could place the whole family in jeopardy.

THE MAXELL MXCP-P100 CASSETTE TAPE PLAYER

The cassette player arrives alongside the resurgence of old media formats, but updated with modern features. Bluetooth compatibility for headphones is available, but also comes with a 3.5mm jack for wired listening. USB-C rechargeable batteries allow for seven to nine hours of playback.

While the MXCP-P100 includes contemporary details, its exterior is reminiscent of ’80s tech. Sitting atop of the player are chunky play, stop, fast forward and rewind buttons, as well as a brass flywheel for volume control. Weighing in at only 210 grams, the player also delivers portability.

NAN BROWN – TRAILERS COLLECTED

Her skillfully made, thiocarbamide-toned gelatin silver prints, in both 6 x 6 and 10 x 10 inch image size, are exceptionally beautiful, rendering many of these aluminum abodes with a radiant glow. Although some remain austere, sleek, and unadorned, many showcase their quirky individuality through various exterior customizations, interior design, and surrounding environments. Despite the limitations of space and construction of these modest, mobile dwellings, Brown’s tightly-cropped images share their inhabitants’ efforts for unique personalization and expression of identity.
