2021-03-15The Unholy follows Alice, a young hearing-impaired girl who, after a supposed visitation from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick. As word spreads and people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits the small New England town to investigate. When terrifying events begin to happen all around, he starts to question if these phenomena are the works of the Virgin Mary or something much more sinister. The Unholy is produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Evan Spiliotopoulos, written for the screen and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos, and is based upon James Herbert’s best-selling book Shrine.

TweetKURT MARKUS – DUNES, NAMIBIA
2021-03-15Kurt Markus’s dune forms were photographed in Namibia, Africa, home to the largest sand dunes in the world. These images celebrate the meditative beauty found in these sensual shapes and forms created by the winds and natural forces ever-changing this unique landscape set within the coastal desert of Namibia. This is Kurt’s second solo show at Obscura Gallery focusing on his personal work in the landscape, the first being an exhibition of Monument Valley landscapes in 2018. Markus approaches this landscape with the same respect and admiration, demonstrating his attunement with the natural world as one would be when impacted on a spiritual level. Many of the images included in the exhibition were taken at Sossusvlei, in the southern part of the Namib Desert, which is a salt and clay ‘pan’ surrounded by sand dunes uniquely red in color and which are 5 million years old.

THE ATMOS X ADIDAS SUPERSTAR MT. FUJI
2021-03-15Japanese retailer atmos, Three Tides Tattoo, and adidas have joined forces for a collaborative Superstar dressed in a festive fireworks motif.
The atmos x Three Tides Tattoo x adidas Superstar “Mt. Fuji” spotlights the artistic talents of Ukiyoemon Mitomoya, the man behind Three Tides Tattoo. The famous Mt. Fuji landmark is rendered beautifully, while meticulous detail showcases its icy alps placed against a starry nighttime sky. Adding a festive air are the fireworks motifs bursting in hues of red and cool-tones.
The final design cues include the signature shell toe, midsole, and overlays in off-white, along with the contrasting blue laces and pink and dark red branding.
