2025-02-24Detroit partystarters HiTech caps off their biggest year yet with a mixtape of new tracks that brings together all the roots of their rambunctious sound. Motor city machine funk is the obvious engine powering the function, but the group drops plenty of Chicago in the mix too alongside the punkier end of rap. Having been around the world and back on tour, HiTech goes global here too, bringing in guests like UK singer George Riley for a new look with the stuttering mid tempo thump of ‘TAKE YO PANTIES OFF’. That said, HiTech is at their best when they trash talk at warp speed like on the deliriously fun ‘SHADOWREALM’.
