    WE WERE HERE

It illuminates the profound personal and community issues raised by the AIDS epidemic as well as the broad political and social upheavals it unleashed. It offers a cathartic validation for the generation that suffered through, and responded to, the onset of AIDS. It opens a window of understanding to those who have only the vaguest notions of what transpired in those years. It provides insight into what society could, and should, offer its citizens in the way of medical care, social services, and community support.

Early in the epidemic, San Francisco’s compassionate, multifaceted, and creative response to AIDS became known as “The San Francisco Model”. The city’s activist and progressive infrastructure that evolved out of the 1960’s, combined with San Francisco’s highly politicized gay community centered around the Castro Street neighborhood, helped overcome the obstacles of a nation both homophobic and lacking in universal healthcare. In its suffering, San Francisco mirrors the experience of so many American cities during those years. In its response, The San Francisco Model remains a standard to aspire to in seeking a healthier, more just, more humane society.

    THE WEIRD WORLD OF BLOWFLY

A major force in the Miami soul scene of the 60s and 70s, Reid wrote Top-10 songs for some of the greatest R&B acts of the era, while at the same time, his X-rated recordings and stage antics as Blowfly made him a star of the "party record" scene.
Having changed the game in 1965 with what might be the world's first rap song, Blowfly has shocked and grooved audiences for over forty years since. Today, he is still on tour, struggling for success and recognition after 50 years of making music. An intimate and revealing portrait, The Weird World of Blowfly celebrates Reid's musical and cultural significance, and paints a picture of an unheralded, hilarious, and stunningly profane man that is as touching as it is obscene.

SHUT UP LITTLE MAN! AN AUDIO MISADVENTURE

In 1987, Eddie and Mitch moved into a low-rent apartment in San Francisco where, through paper-thin walls, they were informally introduced to their middle-aged alcoholic neighbors, Raymond (a raging homophobe) and Peter (a flamboyant gay man).
For 18 months, they hung a microphone from their kitchen window to chronicle the bizarre relationship between their borderline-insane neighbors, accidentally creating one of the world's first "viral" counter-culture sensations on the underground tape market. Revisiting these events through interviews and reenactments with the key players in the phenomenon's development, director Matthew Bate has concocted a darkly comic exploration into the blurred boundaries between art and exploitation.

    GASLAND

It is happening all across America-rural landowners wake up one day to find a lucrative offer from an energy company wanting to lease their property. Reason? The company hopes to tap into a reservoir dubbed the "Saudi Arabia of natural gas." Halliburton developed a way to get the gas out of the ground-a hydraulic drilling process called "fracking".
The chemicals used in the fracking process seep into the soil and water supply, leaving many families with bizarre aberrations like flammable tap water.

    AMER

Shot in the style of 1970s Italian giallo (meaning "yellow", which stems from the origin of the genre as a series of cheap paperback novels with trademark yellow covers) it also serves as a homage to the horror films of Dario Argento. Even the plot summary feels as if it was written on a hazed 70's evening.
Three key moments, all of them sensual, define Ana's life. Her carnal search sways between reality and colored fantasies becoming more and more oppressive. A black laced hand prevents her from screaming. The wind lifts her dress and caresses her thighs. A razor blade brushes her skin, where will this chaotic and carnivorous journey leave her?

Karl Lagerfeld, Creative Director of CHANEL, has designed an exclusive costume for the 'The Dying Swan' as part of English National Ballet's Ballets Russes season at Sadler's Wells in June 2009. This year marks the centenary of the first performance by Serge Diaghilev's ballet at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Karl Lagerfeld has always had a personal interest in ballet and admires the creativity of English National Ballet. He comments that "...as a child I was already impressed by old images of Anna Pavlova dancing the ballet" adding that "...the Ballet Russes were an influence for me". The costume has been created for English National Ballet’s Senior Principal dancer, Elena Glurdjidze, who will wear the design for her performance of 'The Dying Swan'. She says "we always say that the look is 50% of how you are going to dance, so it is very important to have a beautiful costume". During her final fitting, she danced 'The Dying Swan' for Karl, who filmed the performance himself.

    PICTURE ME

The home-movie-style documentary, Picture Me, is a down-and-dirty insider's look at the world of modeling, which, surprise surprise, isn't all glossies and parties. There were plenty of fun appearances made by the likes of Lisa Cant, Missy Rayder, Irina Lazareanu, Tanya D, Cameron Russell, and even Kaiser Karl, but there were also lots of darker scenes, the weight/body issues, the loneliness, the human-turned-robot-syndrome that can only happen when you're being handled like a clothing hanger.

Script, penned by Fontaine and Christopher Hampton, who is also creative consultant, was freely adapted from the Chanel biography "L'Irreguliere" by Edmonde Charles-Roux.

LOUIS VUITTON - BEHIND THE SCENES

Following his acclaimed Spring/Summer 2009 ready-to-wear show for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs knew exactly who he wanted to embody the spirit of the season: Madonna should be the face of Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer fashion campaign. The iconic pop star was photographed by her long-time creative collaborator Steven Meisel, the first time the influential fashion photographer has shot a campaign for Louis Vuitton. The chemistry between the two is evident as in a sepia-toned setting reminiscent of a Paris café in the Forties, with its zinc bar, bentwood chairs and air thick with smoke Madonna transforms into Marc Jacobs' vision of the quintessential Parisienne, striking provocative poses in the season's sexy short skirts, ethnic-inspired sandals and animal-print bangles. The first visuals show Madonna with the collection's emblematic slouchy bags in Monogram canvas and Monogram-embossed leather.

"I wanted the campaign to be very bold, very sensual and very atmospheric. To carry off all these references and all this sophistication, we needed the ultimate performer and for me, that is Madonna " says Marc Jacobs.

    ELEVEN MINUTES

It's been two long years since the sharp-witted Jay McCarroll was dubbed "the next great American designer" on season one of reality TV's Project Runway, and he's anxious to finally show his first line of clothing. The feature documentary, Eleven Minutes, chronicles his year-long journey preparing his first independent runway show for New York's Fashion Week in Bryant Park and the subsequent selling of his line to stores. The result is an in-depth, painfully raw and humorous exploration of the creative process and the constant conflict of balancing commerce with art, fame with talent, and reality-TV with actual reality.
