2015-09-21Le Coq Sportif’s low-cut tennis shoe, the Arthur Ashe, has been reissued in new series of colorways in their new premium graphic Jacquard Pack. Taking stylistic and technical cues from the world of tennis, the French label marries the sneaker drops to a capsule collection featuring sweat pants, Le Coq Sportif’s Teddy zip-up sweater and polo shirts in two broad colorways of optical white or navy “dress” blues.
For the jacquard sneakers, the heel tab features the distinctive French fabric in three separate tricolor accents, supported by a premium all-white leather upper with quarter panels perforated and de-bossed with Arthur Ashe’s distinctive signature. The sole unit also features Le Coq Sportifs’ label stitched-in to the heel. The shoe still retains key elements of its design directly crafted to tackle the rigors of tennis: the “Aerotop” tongue uses the brand’s original designs engineered in collaboration with Ashe for increased breathability and performance, making the sneaker an elegant style statement that’s grounded in sport’s technicality and precision.
