SILAS – DIMENSIONS

Posted on 2026-07-06

After he dropped his full debut with Sneaker back in 2024, Oxford’s own Silas steps back up to serve more crispy grime variations. With a deep affinity for the power of a 140 instrumental, his breakthrough streak continues to yield the toughest beats with a stripped back, steely resolve that could fold into all manner of dance situations.

Continuing the pressure laid down on the ‘Wot’ EP, the A side bowls in heavy with ‘Dimensions’, a cool and deadly whip-up of nervy string stabs and crooked, cubist drums. Meanwhile ‘Lost Souls’ amps up the atmospheric tension and lets the bass flex out behind the groove for a potent sidewinder joint to get the whole club shifting its stance.

TETSUYA ISHIDA

Posted on 2026-07-06

Ishida came of age during Japan’s “lost decade” of the 1990s, an era that saw a severe, long-lasting recession accompanied by social challenges and economic displacement that significantly affected his generation. The scenarios in Ishida’s vivid, hyper-detailed paintings address those travails, their absurdities resonating on both psychological and sociological levels.
Many of Ishida’s protagonists are young people or working-age men with blank expressions, their generic anonymity recalling René Magritte’s bowler-hatted figures. Isolated and desperate, they face bizarre, dreamlike situations and are often subject to mechanical or animalistic metamorphoses.

GEARS OF WAR: E-DAY XBOX WIRELESS CONTROLLERS

Posted on 2026-07-06

Xbox has officially announced the launch of two new limited-edition controllers arriving alongside the highly anticipated console exclusive, Gears of War: E-Day. Designed to commemorate the return of the iconic franchise, the collection offers fans immersive hardware inspired by the game’s gritty atmosphere.

Leading the announcement is a 3D-molded, laser-etched standard Xbox controller, which takes visual cues from the franchise’s infamous emergence holes. The design features cracked asphalt textures, transparent red elements on the D-pad and face buttons, and matching red triggers. To complete the setup, an accompanying 8BitDo charging dock is also available, designed to power the peripheral during downtime.

The second option is a specialized Xbox Design Lab gamepad, set to launch on September 30. This version features exclusive Lancer artwork by heavy metal illustrator Luke Preece, offering a sleek, graphic-forward aesthetic. While the Design Lab edition allows for further customization of triggers and buttons, it trades the 3D-molded asphalt texture of the standard version for a clean, bespoke canvas.
