Posted on 2022-08-08

The legendary graffiti artist has released a sticker decal pack that depicts several of his most iconic designs.

The eponymously titled KARBOMBZ! DECALS comes in 14 different designs to choose from with seven driver side and seven passenger side decals in a large and jumbo iteration. “Karbombz! are like tattoos for your car. Cars are everywhere around the globe and most of them are really boring, total dullsville! Now you can bring art, color, and change to your world and the world around you no matter where you live,”

CHAPEAU!

Posted on 2022-08-08

“The original concept behind Chapeau! was as a sequel of sorts to the Shoo Sho that Julie Curtiss curated last year–riffing on the notion of an elegant hat shop downtown, and also playing with the congratulatory French phrase. But as I began to organize the artist list, news of the leak from the Supreme Court broke and my intention with the exhibition shifted. I started thinking about the many different hats women are expected to wear–and particularly had to wear over the past few years in the exacerbated chaos brought on by the pandemic. Now, overturning one of the last bastions of a woman’s autonomy in this country is a startling reality–forcing us into taking on even more, and in increasingly frightening ways.

KODE9 – THE BREAK UP

Posted on 2022-08-08

Hyperdub boss Kode9 returns to his home label for his first full length since 2015 entitled Escapology. The LP is the soundtrack album to the sonic fiction Astro-Darien, which will be released in October on Hyperdub’s sub-label Flatlines. Other facets of the slowly gestating project have included the sonic installations Kode9 has staged since 2021 at South London’s Corsica Studios. Inspired in part by the musique concrète concepts of the 1950’s, Escapology adds some contemporary bass and club strands to the DNA, making for a fascinating musical element to Kode9’s sprawling opus.
