The story revolves around the life of boxer “Irish” Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and trainer-brother Dick Eklund (Christian Bale), chronicling their early days on the rough streets of Lowell, through Eklund’s battle with drugs and Ward’s eventual world championship in London.
